CBC recruits World Medalists for HomeSense Skate Canada International 2007

Source: Skate Canada Press Release
Date: October 30, 2007
(October 30, 2007 - OTTAWA, ON.) -Some of Canada's favourite and most decorated figure skaters will be reporting on events in Québec City. Tracy Wilson, Kurt Browning and Jamie Salé and David Pelletier have been hired by CBC to use their expertise in reporting on events at the 2007 HomeSense Skate Canada International events. They will join Scott Russell and Brenda Irving as part of CBC's Figure Skating team.

Browning, a four-time World and Canadian Champion, and arguably one of Canada's most popular champions ever, will be sharing his thoughts on the ladies' and men's competitions. This is the first time Kurt will be working for a Canadian broadcaster at home events but his partnership with CBC is not new. Skating fans will remember his outstanding work with CBC at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games.

Joining Browning will be Olympic and World Bronze Medalist in ice dance Tracy Wilson who has had a successful career as a television host, broadcaster and commentator since retiring from competition. The skaters and the fans love her fair, in-depth and positive style and she is recognized worldwide as a leader in the broadcast field.

Olympic and World Champions Jamie Salé and David Pelletier will be using their past experience to provide commentary and analysis of the pairs event. Salé and Pelletier made their debut as commentators last year on CTV when Debbi Wilkes handed over the microphone at Home Sense Skate Canada International in Victoria.

Another addition to the CBC team will be skating coach and commentator PJ Kwong, whose voice is famous from in-venue announcing for both Skate Canada and the ISU. PJ will be providing commentary on Country Canada, CBC's digital channel, writing regular columns for CBC.ca, and acting as Skate Canada's in-venue Host at HomeSense Skate Canada International and BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships this season.

Don't miss any moment of the event!
