Petro-Canada looking for two families to chronicle Vancouver Games

TORONTO - Hundreds of mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters will
be in Vancouver cheering on Canada's Olympians at the 2010 Winter
Games.
Petro-Canada is looking for a couple of families to tell their
stories. Through Petro-Canada's Family Correspondent contest, two
individuals, along with a family member each, will be chosen to go to
Vancouver where they'll chronicle the activities of athletes' families
via Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
"They'll get back the word of what the families were doing, the
relationships they had with their athlete, what their adventures were
there," said former Canadian figure skating star Kurt Browning. "It's
a really fun project and bird's eye view of what's happening at the
Olympics."
Contestants must submit a 30-second video to
www.facebook.com/dreambig.
Petro-Canada is sponsoring athletes' families in Vancouver, providing
accommodation, event tickets, transportation and Canadian team
clothing for two family members of every Canadian competing in the
Olympics and Paralympics.
"It's pretty, pretty cool - 500 people are going to be hosted," said
Browning, who was participating in a promotional event in downtown
Toronto on Wednesday.
"And as cool as it and sounds, there is also a good technical reason
for doing this. There's enough stress at the Olympic Games, especially
for the athletes, having to worry about mom getting across Vancouver
in time to see you compete, not being able to afford
tickets. . . that's all taken out of their hands."
