What is your first childhood memory?
Discovering there was a world past the garage!
Who was your first girlfriend?
A skater named Heather McAuley from a small town in Alberta.
What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you?
Being introduced to Queen Elizabeth by Brian Mulroney, and having him tell
the Queen he taught me everything I know!
What's your favorite movie?
Bram Stoker's Dracula, because that's where I took my wife on our
first date.
What's your favorite place to be in the world?
In my wife's arms
What size family would you like to have?
Big enough to fill a room, but not make me crazy!
Will you encourage your children to become skaters?
I don't think so, but everyone tells me I will anyway.
What do you look for in a friend?
Flexibility.
What trait do you dislike most in others?
I don't like people who make assumptions.
What would you like to change most about yourself?
As much as people think I'm easygoing, I don't think I am. I'd love to be
able to rock with the boat.
What do you admire most in women?
That they're so much different from men.
What do you appreciate about men?
You can do whatever you want and they understand; you can just hang with
guys.
Who's your best friend?
Gareth Edwards. He's a crazy, wild, red-headed squash player from Edmonton.
We're like the dynamic duo.
What's your favorite season?
I like winter, if I'm at my parent's farm. I like summer, if I'm in the
city.
What do you wish you could do that you can't?
A triple lutz.
What was your least-favorite costume?
I skated to a number from the movie The Rocketeer in a professional
competition. I didn't see the costume beforehand, and I didn't get to try it
on before the competition. It was all red. I hated that costume, and I skated
badly the one time I wore it. Never wore it again!
Who do you think is underrated in the skating world?
Coaches.
What's the most treasured thing you have?
My family.
