Exclusives

Interviews and content exclusive to the Kurt Files

Kurt took time out of his busy schedule prepping the Stars on Ice Japan tour to answer some fan questions about the 2024 Stars on Ice show. He gave some sneak peeks into the upcoming Canadian tour and offered insight into the creative process. He and his co-choreographer Alissa Czisny recorded this video from rinkside at the Ractab Dome in Osaka, Japan.

Kurt sat down with fellow Canadian figure skating legend Elvis Stojko for a long chat looking back at their careers, from the first time they met, through their great rivalry of the early 90’s, to touring together in Stars on Ice today. They answered questions from their fans, shared anecdotes and memories, reflected on their very different approaches to their sport, and learned new things about each other in the process. Come join them for laughs, memories, and some very thoughtful life advice.

Kurt sat down with composer
Jonathan Galland over Zoom to talk in-depth about the creation of MisDirected for Ice Dance International (released Jan. 27, 2022). It's a fascinating look into the creative process, from concept to choreography to music composition. They capped things off by doing a "DVD-extras" style commentary over "MisDirected." If you're interested in behind-the-scenes looks and the creative process, you'll want to check this out!

Watch Kurt's hilarious, historic conversation with choreographer Sandra Bezic, sharing untold stories from 30+ years of iconic collaborations. Recorded on Sep. 18, 2020, the chat went on for well over an hour, covering an incredible amount of ground. If you're a Kurt fan, you don't want to miss this!

Kurt did a live Q&A with you, his fans, on Facebook Live on Saturday, June 20, 2020 that went for over an hour and featured some great questions from the fans, as well as a surprise walk through his costume closet.

Fun questions with very fun answers: Kurt sat down with me before the 2019 Stars on Ice stop in Hamilton, ON for a fun video interview.

In part 1, he talks about partying in Barbados as "Paul Wylie," what audiences don't know about Elvis Stojko, and which of his own programs Yuzu would nail.

In part 2, he talks about his favorite Stars on Ice pranks and bloopers, the strangest things he's heard or seen from the ice, his favorite compliments to receive, and more!

Relive Kurt's triumphs and disappointments over the course of his amazing career, to the tune of some rather familiar-to-Kurt fans songs. The video is broken up because of size and length.
