Kurt choreographed the intro to this program around a nifty footwork
sequence involving a hockey puck, but wasn't allowed to use a prop in
competition. The version of the program that fans saw at the Canadian
Open thus opened with Kurt joyfully zipping out to skate, only to
realize that he'd forgotten to tie his skate lace. In a rather
unconventional bit of choreography for an ISU short program, Kurt
spent the first bit of his program quickly lacing up his skates before
taking off for this happy "skating on a pond" program, which included
him getting beaned by snowballs thrown from off-ice and making snow
angels on the ice.
