MATT LAUER, co-host:
The Rockefeller Center skating rink this morning and they're here to
see this man skate. Four-time Canadian national champion and four-time
world champion, Kurt Browning.
Kurt, great to see you. Welcome.
Mr. KURT BROWNING (4-Time World Champion Skater): Yeah.
LAUER: So nice of you to do this for Ann Curry's birthday. I know
she appreciates this. She really does.
Mr. BROWNING: I have a really busy schedule, but when they said
it's her birthday...
LAUER: You couldn't resist.
Mr. BROWNING: ...yeah.
LAUER: Tell me about that schedule. You're touring with "Target
Stars on Ice." Where does that take you?
Mr. BROWNING: Gosh, it takes us 60--65 different cities across the
United States in about three months. So, thanks to Target, we make it
across the country, somehow.
LAUER: It's an enormous tour. And you're also taking part in
this--let me take this because apparently your mike's not working...
Mr. BROWNING: All right.
LAUER: In this "Star Skates Goes Country"...
Mr. BROWNING: Yeah.
LAUER: ...which has got to be a lot of fun. So you're skating to
country music today, is that right?
Mr. BROWNING: Yeah, K-B Toys is sponsoring the event,
kbtoysstarskates.com. And we're are here to show you a little bit of
country skating. And it's very exciting. I took the job because I got
to skate to Brian White live.
LAUER: Oh, which is cool.
Mr. BROWNING: And--yeah. And Martina McBride skated--I mean, she
didn't skate, but she sang. And Kristi skated to her live. And for us,
it's pretty special.
LAUER: A little something different.
Mr. BROWNING: Yeah.
LAUER: And you're going to skate to Larry Gatlin today.
Mr. BROWNING: Yeah, today's the Larry Gatlin tune. And it's a
little bit of a mix-up between boogie and Beethoven. Let's go figure it
out.
LAUER: Give it a shot.
Ladies and gentlemen, Kurt Browning.
Mr. BROWNING: Thank you.
LAUER: Great to see you.
(Kurt Browning performs)
LAUER: Four-time world champion, Kurt Browning.
Kurt, thanks very much.
And we're back with more after these messages.
