Still nursing a case of Olympic fever?
Let "Target Stars on Ice" cool you down.
Kurt Browning, Kristi Yamaguchi, Tara Lipinski -- who lived in the
Detroit area while training for the Olympics -- and other world-class
skaters glide into the Palace of Auburn Hills for an 8 p.m.
extravaganza Saturday that will feature jumps, spins and lots of
sequins.
Among the highlights: the return, after a 4-year absence, of
two-time Olympic gold medalist Katarina Witt.
Others in the skate lineup: Olympic gold medalist Ilia Kulik,
former U.S. national pairs champs Jenni Meno and Todd Sand; former
world champions Anjelika Krylova and Oleg Ovsiannikov; Olympic silver
medalist and former world champion Denis Petrov; eight-time British
national champ Steven Cousins and former Swiss national champ Lucinda
Ruh.
In case you're keeping count, Browning won four world championships
and numerous Canadian championships, but never an Olympic medal.
Tickets are $37.50 and $62.60 and available at Ticketmaster or at the
Palace box office: 248-377-8200. By Georgea Kovanis, Free Press staff
