Kurt claims this song was written by Aaron Copland, but the only Grand
Canyon Suite is by Ferde Grofe. He may have been mistaken since the
suite of songs appears on a recording with Aaron Copland's music. This
is the program in which he famously landed the first quadruple jump in
competition, a quad toe loop at the 1988 Worlds on March 25, 1988 in
Budapest, Hungary. In 2022, Kurt revisited this number comedically as
part of the "7 Wonders" theme for the Skate Muskoka Club Show he
skated in. He used the same music and some of the same footwork, but
recast himself as an old man with a long grey beard, and integrated
some of the comedic moves from numbers like Rag-GIDON-Time.
