Chrysler Stars on Ice Review - Halifax, NS - April 11, 1999
written by Louisa
I was at the debut of the Canadian Stars on Ice yesterday (Sunday) in
Halifax and Kurt was awesome. The "Ain't No Sunshine" program really
was outstanding - I've always loved the way his blades glide over the
ice and he was smooth, so relaxed, and looked fantastic in a very basic
"costume" which is always my favourite for him anyways (no, it wasn't
red!). He and Tara did the "Malaguena" Tango -- I know there's been a
lot of discussion about that, but it was really good and judging by the
crowd's response, I think they agreed with me. Their moves were in
sync, I believe totally because of Kurt's experience - he was matching
his every movement to Tara's, and it was obvious that he is much more
experienced and understands the music - even his jumps when seen beside
her's, just had more flow and light landings. Kurt was in his
Rag-Gidon-Time mode and, well, it just gets better and better. For
those of you who are still to see the C.S.O.I., I don't want to say too
much but I think you'll agree with me when you see it - Kurt is "skating
happy" which means "great". He was definitely the "star' of the Stars
on Ice in Halifax!
