Chrysler Stars on Ice Review - Toronto, ON - April 17,

I went to the Saturday show. I was in the 9th row
centre, and found these to be wonderful seats (well, on-ice would
have been better, but this was nice too). I liked the Air Canada
Centre and am hoping that we'll get Worlds or Canadians there
soon.
Kurt was wonderful, although his usual attention to detail wasn't
quite there in Jumping Jack. Someone said that Ilia did this
number on the US tour, so maybe Kurt didn't feel like it was his
program. Ain't No Sunshine (choreographed by Chris Dean) was
wonderful. I hope that this makes the broadcast, and that Kurt
uses it next season. I doubt that any other male singles skater
could have performed that program to the level that Kurt did.
And Rag-GIDON-time was wonderful as usual. It was the last solo
of the show.
Tango Malaguena (Tara & Kurt) was much improved from Tara's
special. From where I sat, the sexual overtones seemed to be
gone...they skated it with more attitude, IMO.
Tara skated her 3 programs without a jump missed. She's grown
and filled out..she now looks like she's 17. Her presentation
has also improved, and I'm sure she was on cloud 9 just being on
the tour with Kurt, let alone skating a duet with him. She's now
landing all 5 of the triples, so she's on the road back. IMO,
she's an amazing young lady.
Other highlights for me...Isa & Herbie's You're Still the
One...choreographed by Uschi Keszler- this was more of a pairs
program than what they usually do. I've never been a fan of
trick skating. I guess that Uschi can choreograph a good
program. Jenni&Todd's Europa-classic Meno and Sand; Shae&Vic's
Jackson Medley..Clarence Ford did a great job with this
program---I just wish that Vic would spend a bit more time with
Clarence as he needs to match the way Shae moves.
