Eight hockey players will be paired with eight figure skaters in this
elimination-based reality skating competition. Season premiere is
Sep. 26. Performance shows are one hour on Sundays, and start Oct. 3,
while the results show are 1/2 an hour on Mondays, starting Oct. 4.
The show will be filmed from a sound stage in Toronto, where the set
from the 2009 show will be reconstructed. Filming starts at
6:30PM.
Week 5 will be "Second Chance Sunday", when the four eliminated pairs
come back for the opportunity to win their way back into the
competition, and the remaining four pairs get a one week break.
Week 8 is the final week. Each pair will perform twice - the first
performance "Skaters' Choice" and the second is the pair's favorite
performance of the season. Judges will be on hand to offer comments,
but will not score the pairs. The winners will be determined solely by
Canada's votes.
Ensemble numbers in the finale show included the cast skating to "For
Your Entertainment" by Adam Lambert, the men skating to "Save a Horse
(Ride a Cowboy)" by Big & Rich, the ladies plus Kurt skating to
"Nothin' On You" by Bruno Mars, and Violetta Afanasieva & Pete Dack
performing to "Snake Food" by Safri Duo.
On Dec. 5, 2010 at 8PM, CBC will air an one-hour special "After the
Ice Melts" looking back at season 2, featuring never-before-seen
footage and interviews with all the pairs.
Executive Producers: Kevin Albrecht, John Brunton, Barbara Bowlby.
Producers: Sandra Bezic, Sue Brophey
Produced by Insight Productions in association with CBC Television.
