Battle of the Blades will premiere on Sep. 22 with a two hour premiere episode that introduces everyone and looks back at previous seasons!. It will air at 8PM on Sunday nights, with weekly eliminations announced at the top of each subsequent show. The Monday results show has been eliminated due to budgetary cuts. The first live show airs Sep. 29.
The judging panel this year consists of Kurt Browning, Jamie Sale, and PJ Stock. There will be no guest judges. The judges have a one-time save to use to save one couple from elimination.
Weekly themes:
- Week 1: Rock
- Week 2: Suit and Tie (out: Marcy Hinzmann & Mike Krushelnyski)
- Week 3: International Beat (out: Oksana Kazakova & Vladimir Malakhov)
- Week 4: Canadian Music (saved: Shae-Lynn Bourne & Anson Carter)
- Week 5: Iconic Duos
- Week 6: Olympic Greats
